ZimDrive Terms of Service

Welcome to ZimDrive. These Terms of Service ("Terms") are an agreement between you and ZimDrive, operated by ViralZim, Harare, Zimbabwe ("ZimDrive", "we", "us"). By creating an account or using the app, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use ZimDrive.
1. What ZimDrive is
ZimDrive is a technology platform that connects riders who need transport with independent drivers who provide it. ZimDrive is not a transport company and does not own vehicles or employ drivers. Drivers are independent providers who use the platform to offer rides. Any transport is a direct agreement between the rider and the driver.
2. Eligibility
- You must be at least 18 years old to use ZimDrive.
- You must provide accurate information (name, phone number, and for drivers, vehicle details and photos) and keep it up to date.
- You are responsible for keeping your password and account secure.
3. How rides and pricing work
- Riders propose a fare for a trip. Drivers may accept that fare or make their own offer. A trip is agreed only when a rider and a driver accept a price.
- The agreed fare is payable directly by the rider to the driver, in cash or via EcoCash, in the currency shown (USD or ZiG). ZimDrive does not process ride payments and does not handle bank cards.
- Prices are set between rider and driver. ZimDrive may show a suggested fare, but the final price is your choice.
4. Driver wallet and commission
- Drivers maintain a wallet balance. To top up, drivers send money via EcoCash to the number shown in the app (currently 0780589586, Calistas Mazai) and submit the amount and confirmation reference for approval.
- ZimDrive charges a service commission on each completed trip, deducted from the driver's wallet at the rate shown in the app. A minimum wallet balance is required to accept rides.
- Wallet balances are for platform use (commission) only. Top-up amounts are credited after we confirm the EcoCash payment. Submitting false payment references may result in suspension.
5. Your responsibilities
- Riders: be ready at your pickup point, treat drivers with respect, and pay the agreed fare.
- Drivers: hold a valid driver's licence and any permits required by law, keep your vehicle roadworthy and insured, drive safely and lawfully, and carry the rider to the agreed destination. The photos you upload must be genuine and current.
- Everyone: do not use ZimDrive for anything illegal, do not harass or endanger others, and do not misuse the in-app chat or calling features.
6. Safety
Drivers upload a photo of themselves and their vehicle, and riders can see the driver's name, photo, vehicle and number plate before accepting a trip. Please check these details match before you get in. Ratings help keep the community safe. If you ever feel unsafe, end the trip and contact local authorities.
7. Cancellations
Riders and drivers may cancel before a trip starts. Repeated or abusive cancellations may lead to restrictions on your account.
8. Disclaimer and limitation of liability
- ZimDrive provides the platform "as is". We do not guarantee that a driver or rider will always be available, or that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free.
- Because drivers are independent, ZimDrive is not responsible for the acts, omissions, conduct, driving, or vehicle condition of any driver or rider. Your trip is at your own risk.
- To the maximum extent permitted by law, ZimDrive is not liable for any loss, injury, or damage arising from a trip or from your use of the platform. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under Zimbabwean law.
9. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or close an account that breaches these Terms, provides false information, or misuses the service. You may stop using ZimDrive at any time and request deletion of your account.
10. Privacy
Your use of ZimDrive is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains what data we collect and how we use it.
11. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The current version is always at zimdrive.viralzim.com/terms. Continuing to use ZimDrive after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
12. Governing law and contact
These Terms are governed by the laws of Zimbabwe. Questions or complaints: support@zimdrive.viralzim.com.
